On behalf of the City of Rising Star, I want to express our sincere appreciation for the Roughnecks and Rednecks efforts and all the volunteers for making the organization into what it is today.
Early September 2017, three of our local citizens had an idea of promoting a small hog hunt and travel to South Texas, (Port Aransas TX) and feed those effected by Hurricane Harvey. The three men's ideas and thoughts grew into a very large group of men and women showing their dedication, love and compassion for others. Many items have been donated and these volunteers cooked for many days, some twenty-four hours, giving all they could for this project. As of this date they have grown in volunteers and their plan is to continue the volunteer services to help any Texas in need in any area.
We trust that over the years Twinkle City will always remember the efforts of the Roughnecks and Rednecks. We all know that many volunteers have spent long hours and sacrificed their personal time for the greater good of this project.
I would also like to thank all of our businesses, organizations, school, churches and residents, and all the volunteers for their dedication on a daily basis in making Rising Star the greatest place to live, work and raise a family. We appreciate you all. We have a wonderful loving and caring community, and I am so proud to be a part of it.
Thank you again to all you wonderful caring folks.
MAY GOD BLESS US ALL
